The Carrier Roller, also known as Top Roller or Upper Roller, is installed above the track frame of the crawler excavator.

Unlike the lower track rollers, which directly carry the machine weight, the carrier roller supports and guides the upper section of the track chain. It helps maintain correct track chain position and reduces friction between the moving track chain and undercarriage frame.

For a 30-35 ton class excavator such as the Caterpillar E330, the carrier roller operates under continuous vibration, track-chain loading and demanding working conditions.
