A fuel injection pump lubrication pipe (also called injection pump oil line, or injection pump lube oil inlet/return pipe) is the lube-oil delivery line in the diesel engine's forced lubrication system for the fuel injection pump. After the oil pump builds pressure, it guides filtered pressurized oil from the main gallery into the injection pump interior to forcibly lubricate moving parts such as bearings and drive gears; the oil then returns to the oil pan, forming a closed loop. In conventional injection pump designs, the lubrication cavity is typically a horizontal blind hole; the pump body wall features an oil inlet that communicates with the cavity to form a "T"-shaped lubrication circuit, with a separate return hole on the shaft cover plate also communicating with the circuit—the injection pump lubrication pipe is precisely the external line connecting the diesel engine main gallery to the pump's oil inlet.

The injection pump is the core actuator of diesel fuel injection. Its internal camshaft, roller tappets, plunger pairs, and other moving joints generate substantial frictional heat under prolonged heavy-load operation. Without effective lubrication, faults such as camshaft bearing scuffing, roller tappet seizure, and plunger-pair scoring​ easily occur, and in severe cases the pump seizes and the engine stalls. Therefore, the flow capacity, sealing integrity, and pressure resistance​ of the injection pump lubrication pipe directly affect pump life and overall machine reliability.
